About UsThe Border Collie is a breed of dog that I have always been interested in - in fact it is the only breed I have ever wanted to own. I chose the red and white (ee) Border Collie as I personally feel they are a great looking dog, with all the great qualities of the Border Collie as well as being extremely handsome. My friends said it is a crime that I did not own a dog as they all love me and after months of research into Border Collies, I was able to realise my dream of bringing a Border Collie into my family. In 2005, I was lucky enough to contact Lani Mercer of Jessomine Border Collies and my very special red and white lady, Ember, came into my life and changed it for ever. Once you have a Border Collie, you don't look back! I have Scottish heritage (my clan's tartan is part of the logo) which also attracted me to this breed because of its Scottish heritage. In addition, the breed's background of being a 'dog of the land' was also very appealing. Due to these features, the name 'Deargban' was born. Dearg is Gaelic
(Scottish) for red (a. deirge, red; nm. g. deirg, the ploughed part of a field
in opposition to the unploughed - as per Faclair Gàidhlig) No other name seemed as appropriate.
My name is Liz Buchanan. I am passionate about Border Collies and in particular about Red Border Collies. I would love to discuss any aspect of these animals with you from breeding to training to showing to just plain loving them as a member of your family.
